For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. ~Romans 1:16 (NKJV)
Once you’ve lived in your home for any length of time, you know how to get there. Because of GPS, others know how to get there, too. But if someone got lost, could you help them find you?
So, it is with Christ. Many believe in Christ, finding their home in Him. Because we live in a technology-rich world, others can find Him, too. But if someone were to ask you why you believe as you do, are you ready to tell them gently and respectfully and lead them to Him?
Just as the GPS helps us find our way to wherever we go, the Romans Road to Salvation helps us lead the lost to HIM! It gives us a way to explain the Good News from verses in the Book of Romans. This simple yet powerful method answers the whys, who, hows, and whats of salvation.
Following is the Romans Road to Salvation with landmarks to guide others find their home to Him:
PICTURE: All have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God (3:23). No one is righteous, no not one... (3:9-18)
PENALTY: The wages of sin is death... (6:23a)
PRIZE: The free gift of God is eternal life (6:23b).
PASSION: God demonstrates His own love toward us... (5:8a).
PRICE: ...in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (5:8b).
POWER: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes (1:16).
PROMISE: The Word of Faith — If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (10:8-10).
PEACE: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this Grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (5:1-2).
PERSONAL: The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith” (1:17).
PRAYER: God, I am a sinner. I have fallen short of Your glory. Your penalty is just. I deserve death. Because You loved me, You gave me a Savior—Your only begotten Son—to atone for my sins. By faith, I confess that JESUS IS LORD. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead for my sins so that I can have the gift of eternal life. Thank You, Father God, for the Peace I now have with You and the Grace in which I now stand. I rejoice in the hope of Your Glory! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
Jesus is coming back sooner than we think. So, let us make the most of every opportunity we have to do the good of sharing the gospel of Christ. It alone is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.
