And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”
~Colossians 4:17 NKJV
As Kingdom ministers, we must faithfully complete the ministry we’ve received from our Lord Jesus Christ, doing all the He told us to do. We must proclaim the Gospel Message with intensity in simplicity. Therefore, let us keep on our watch—challenging, warning, and urging others with all authority. Don’t quit—never give up or relax your hold.
Regardless of the response, keep your eyes on what you’re doing, accepting the hard times and the good. Do a thorough job as God’s servant, keeping the Gospel Message alive.
To take heed to the ministry, first be an EXAMPLE to the believers, teaching them with your life by word, demeanor, love, faith, and integrity. In all things, show yourself to be a pattern of good works. In doctrine, show integrity and reverence with an incorruptible sound speech that cannot be reproached.
Next, diligently ENGAGE the Word by publicly and privately reading it, exhorting and counseling from it, praying through it, and teaching it to the believers.
Next, do not EASE OFF the spiritual gift of ministry imparted to you. Instead, keep it dusted off and in full use by fanning the flame of God’s gracious gift within you.
Finally, ENVELOPE yourself in all these things—practicing, cultivating, and meditating upon them. Then, your progress will be EVIDENT to all as you throw ourselves wholly into your ministry.
Thus, do your utmost in this ministry from our Savior and Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep a close watch on all you do and think. As you stay true to what is right, God will bless you and use you to help others.
